You’ve heard about Horrid Henry, now it’s time to meet Dónall Dána, as Horrid Henry has been named in the Irish-language edition of Francesca Simon’s popular series of books, illustrated by Tony Ross.

Cló Iar-Chonnacht are publishing five new books in the Horrid Henry series in Irish this year and five more in 2017. The series has been translated to Irish by Máirín Ní Ghadhra, Gormfhlaith Ní Thuairisg, Caitlín Ní Chualáin and Marion Ní Shúilleabháin, all of whom are native Irish speakers and journalists with RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta.

Dónall Dána is a horrid boy who loves doing unimaginable and horrible things. He throws food, he pushes, shoves and pinches.

This is the third book in the Horrid Henry: Dónall Dána series and it has been translated to Irish by Caitlín Ní Chualáin. It contains four short stories which are suitable for children from 7 to 10 years old both to read at home and for use as classroom readers.

Everyone in Dónall Dána’s class has lost at least one tooth – everyone except Dónall Dána, that is. As if that wasn’t bad enough, now his little brother has lost a tooth as well. Dónall decides that enough is enough and it’s time for him to take matters into his own hands and play a trick on the tooth fairy.
