Scríbhneoir comhaimseartha Gaeilge ó Chiarraí is ea é Maidhc Dainín Ó Sé si a modern writer of Irish from Kerry. He was born in Carrachán in 1942. He spent many years working in England and in America, but he returned to Ireland in 1969 as he and his wife wished to raise their children in Ireland. He has written both novels and short stories.

Maidhc Dainín is also famous as a musician and plays the accordion.
