Caitríona Hastings

Caitríona Hastings is from Tyrone. She lived in Westport, Co. Mayo for a number of years. She’s now based in Galway city where her husband is a Church of Ireland rector. She teaches Irish and folklore in Galway - Mayo Institute of Technology. Her book, Balor, won the Réics Carlo award in 2009. She very interested in the oral tradition and in folktales. She believes that the they should be presented in attractive ways to a new generation.
