Antain Mac Lochlainn

Antain Mac Lochlainn was born in Coleraine, County Derry in 1965. He holds a BA and PhD in Irish Studies from the University of Ulster. He has worked with Foinse, Bord na Gaeilge and RTÉ. He is currently Head Tutor on the Higher Diploma in Translation, National University of Ireland, Maynooth. In 2000 Cois Life published his authoritative guide to translation in Irish, Cuir Gaeilge Air! (2000).

Mac Lochlainn has been awarded prizes for his fiction works by the Arts Council, Seachtain na Scríbhneoirí, Oireachtas na Gaeilge, Comórtas Gearrscéalta Francis Mc Manus RTÉ. His first novel, Ruball an Éin (Cló Iar-Chonnachta 2005), was shortlisted for a Glen-Dimplex award 2006. His book Malairt Scéil, Nuascéalaíocht ó Albain was published by Cois Life, 2006.
