A representative sample from the significant collection of folklore carried out by the Folklore Commission of Ireland during the 1940s in the central Donegal Gaeltacht. This collection gives an insight to the range of material that was collected: there are stories of heroes, magic, and humour as well as sayings, songs, rhymes and prayers. It is a wonderful example of the unspoilt Irish that was spoken in this region.
